Also distracted by 'fragments'.

As for 10, I sometimes miss the obvious. I thought 'conclusion from sharing' was the G indicator and couldn't make sense of the rest

Help with 18a and 10d.

18. Medicine drink waiter put out with meal, not before (6)
The answer may be longer than 6.
I think anagram of waiter is involved.

10d. Film with Saudi money's backing out of competition (11, two words)

I am working on short answers for 20d, 37a etc., but will come back if needed.

Thanks.

18 : anag waiter meal, but not a (before). 9 letters
10 : normal clue. Usual setter's film (2 letters), followed by Saudi currency. All preceded by French word for outside of.

Thanks Meursault.
Got both.

Are 24a and 34a normal?
Also is the first cell (left of 1a) have a G in it?

First cell is indeed a G. Neither 24a or 34a are normal - ie they are thematically altered.

Thanks smartie.

got 24a.
34a proving difficult.
Still about 8 left.

I have guesses for some of the unclueds.
They also have been treated but have not tried hard to come up with the longer words.

34a - you'll kick yourself! It's an anagram. It really helps if you crack the six included entries and understand their relationship with the thematic entries.

Included should read unclued. Oh for predictive text that works!

34a is a straightforward anagram that leads to an adjective.

I'm surprised that no one has commented on the points I've been unable to fathom - which usually means I'm being really dim:

19d - the entry in the grid does not equal the answer to the clue minus the six-letter thematic term. This looks like a serious deficiency, but since the setters would have spotted it I'm obviously missing something.

2dn - I can see the 'well-born girl', but how can 'reversing final answer' be a clue to the word below the grid?
