Perhaps Smartie would be kind enough to explain 16ac.
I think it has 2 clashes, but wordplay eludes me.

I'll do my best in place of Smartie. The answer is BRAT, with one clash (BRRR). The wordplay involves an item of clothing for females, the cups being where the sisters fit in, and the letter T

Regarding the numbers mentioned earlier (51 and 21), I have 50 and 22, the latter including the relevant choice for the last letter of the "ambiguous" entry.

Thanks Mersault, that much I understood, but where does the definition (whatever that is) fit with BRAT? I am expecting a Scots reference.

The operative word in the clue is "get". Look up the noun in Chambers and all will be revealed!

Thanks meursault! Much appreciated. It's nice to get words confirmed when you wonder if you have just made them up... very nearly over the line now. Just a couple of clues to go and only a couple of real instances to fit in. I think they both come from 20d referring to a philosopher but can't seem to parse it. A gentle nudge over the line would be greatly appreciated.

Martianalien - if you get stuck I can give you the number of clashes in each row.

The 'philosopher' is John Lock, though more accurately he was a political theorist. So you'll need an adjective derived from the name.

Smartie, I think it's fair to give the number of clashes by row. There've been a couple of queries about the total. Part of this information has already been given, but here they are all together: 2,6,7,1,2,3,5,5,2,6,7,5.
