Thanks both. I actually had 25a but discounted it because I could not think of a word that could fit into 22d if it was correct and I could not parse it. I also was sidetracked with gasper for 26d.
All done now. My calculations suggest the ambiguous entry need not be bee.
I found this one the most difficult this year but also one of the best.

Can anyone give me a hint for 10d? I just can't seem to make any sense of the clue, and it's the only one I haven't got.

Please can anyone help with 28d 'Bedbug once found on a short prison jacket' (4)?
I've struggled through the rest but am still missing 2 or 3 clashes. I found this really difficult and am also battling with EV this week!

Bobbi bunny it's BAJU(G). I also am enjoying the EV - some great double clues.

Thanks unclued - just what I needed! Now back to EV. No doubt I may be posting there before very long...

Having 'finished' this puzzle, I realised I had one too many clashes, and only on examination did I see that I had not recognised the 'consistent' nature of these. It would have save an inordinate amount of time if I had seen that the clashes were restricted!

This was because one of my first answers was ALIVE to 14 down and this is clearly wrong, though it strikes me as better than the alternatives. Can anyone help me on this?

Similarly took a good deal of slogging before spotting the nature of the clashes. Having a little problem with 5 down among a few others... I think I have a word that fits both definition (loosely) and wordplay, along with at least one clash but can't double check it with chambers word wizard. Could anyone confirm this for me. I think it's a contraction of two "modern" words for junk and journals respectively. Thanks
