P.S. And I still don't get the title!

I have a full grid apart from 29A which I can't work out at all, even given the three possibilities for most of the letters. A hint would be welcome. Like others I've failed to see the ambiguous entry - which of the 4-letters downs is it, s-p?

Hi Cockie - 29a was one of my last ones too - ridiculous! It's a simple 'hidden' (indicated by 'shows'). The down one that fooled me was the one with spot as the definition - could end in B or T.

Something tells me that Sabre picked the word 'bathtub' VERY deliberately to trap the unwary - mean.

I'm struggling here. It says the clashes are consistent, but I have a different clash between 6a/9d to that in 35a/24d - have I got something wrong?

I think you have something very wrong - there is no clash at all between 6a and 9d - both are 'L'. The other one is B/D - all clashes are consistent in a way - that doesn't mean they are all the same clashes though if that is what you are getting at. Hope this helps.

Gitto - I'm struggling too but I can tell you there is no clash at 6a/9d. It's the same letter for both clues.

Thanks S-pugh and Smartie - but I don't see why blobby isn't a legitimate answer for 6a. At least my 9d seems correct!

Thanks s-p. It's odd how one just can't see the obvious sometimes. I'd failed to notice the bathtub and will now count VERY CAREFULLY INDEED.
