Chrise, I remember a similar prize crossword where one answer did 'double duty'..unfortunately not which one. Other than that, there is a Lent island in Canada...

I remember one based on "The picture of Dorian Gray" which did that. I think it was in the Independent.

That's the one I was thinking of - Guardian, not Independent, then. (More likely, as I've only done a handful of Indie crosswords.)

Still not got 12 d , despite clues . With so many definitions absent this crossword was a bit too 'fluffy' for my liking .
