This won't make much sense to anyone not doing this one, as there are "special instructions" that I don't want to give away.

7d Consuming funny bar in the morning (5)

U?I?G

It can only be USING, but I don't see anything other than the definition.

I also seem to be mssing one of the themed ones in the down clues. I have 2, 3, 4, 12, 16, 19 and 22. Where should I be looking for the other one - or does 5 count as one of them?

I'm not doing this, but Amusing would be funny, 'bar in the morning' = drop AM.

Thanks scorpiojo
I suppose it must be then, but the wording of the instructions to me read as if it isn't one.

Hi chris
The 5d is generally "hidden" in the undefined answer.

Odd puzzle!

I agree. I thought 5d didn't count as one of the eight. If it does, then that's unusual in this kind of "special instructions" crossword, isn't it?

Also, when parsing 3d, I have rights = res. Doesn't mean much to me? Could anyone enlighten me please?

We seem to have the same answer for 3d at least, manu. Does it mean plural "rights" as in Rs?
