Hello, Elle!
Now, I confess to knowing the name, Emile Zola, but I could not name a book or play he wrote.
I know he wrote a famous letter, "J'accuse...!" but that's all.
I got the answer OK, but had no idea where it came from.
My old Mother would not like me reading books like that.
Peter Pan's Nana is much more my style!
There is a statue of Peter not too far from me, in Kirriemuir, Barrie's birthplace.

I had a look online to see the pictures of the Peter Pan statue on the High Street in Kirriemuir.
I clicked on a picture to enlarge it.......and, guess what, up popped a window saying if I wanted to see more photos, I should click on the Facebook icon...!!!!
Grrh! Am I being stalked by Facebook?
There was a question involving "War Horse" on Eggheads!
It is a trifle spooky how, lately, references to / questions about/ subjects we have talked about, have come up on the programme!
Reminder here......I have yet to watch the film of "War Horse" that I recorded!

Yes, there is a statue of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens!
One of the very early books by James Barrie was entitled "Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens."
This came way before the more well- known "Peter Pan and Wendy."
And yes, the Darlings do live in London.......in Bloomsbury.
I saw the play about "War Horse"...I enjoyed that very much, although I preferred reading Michael Morpurgo's book.
But I have not yet watched the film made by Steven Spielberg.
I have a back collection of recordings waiting to be viewed!
I'll get there one day.......

Oh dear....... I fell asleep reading my book!
Yes, The Bloomsbury Set was a group of writers, artists and generally intellectuals.
I cannot think of any of the famous names off the top of my head, other than Virginia Woolf.
I think it was it was she who started up the group by allowing them to meet in her house?
I remember reading something about them which has stuck in my mind.......
They were described as "living in Squares but loving in triangles"!
I have a feeling it may be the title of a book?

I am doubting whether it ever stopped since yesterday.
I have nearly finished today's puzzle - only a few more clues to go.
Then I need to write some letters, and sort out some official paper work.
I also need to pop down to the card shop at some stage - I need a birthday card and a sympathy card.
I shall get wet again......ugh!

Great morning here, like Spring!
Not long home.
Was at optician ordering new readers then I had to go back out to buy my paper (senior moment!).
Now if it's drama you want at the Olympics, then Elise Christie's your girl!
She fell in the heat, then they restarted it.
Elise qualified in second place, then she got disqualified!
Poor lass! Her Olympics are over.
Our curlers, men and women, both won their matches.

I am glad that it is not only I who has senior moments!
Now , I would take issue here....and point out that I have already been out walking the dog IN THE RAIN for TWO HOURS !
Surely I am allowed to complain about going out to get wet, yet again, by going to the shop?!

I confess I do not know the rules of Short Track, but Elise fell shortly after the start and the race was stopped.
It was restarted and she came second, then was thrown out for an infringement.
To me it looked as if she was the skater impeded, but the referees saw it differently.
It is very common in Short Track for there to be disqualifications.
The rules are implemented rigourously!
