Yes, Greyfriars Bobby came to my mind. When in Edinburgh, we tried to find Bobby and went all over the cemetery, not realising we had walked past his little statue about three times !

Hello, Jazzgirl!
It is many years since I saw "Bobby"!
I had a look at Mikey's profile just now, and he posted this morning at just after 8 o'clock, and maybe later.
The thread was about pregnant women and job interviews!
And shortly after, he was dead.
Hard to take in!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, thank you........I have now found the Chat Thread on AnswerBank.
And have seen all the many lovely tributes to Mikey.
Yes, I am sure you are right......I had thought that I had responded to a few queries from Mikey.......
They could well have been Everyman questions.......that I don't remember?
It seems he has a sister....perhaps she will be able to look after his dog?
I too thought immediately of Greyfriars Bobby.
Oh dear...it is turning out a bad week......
It is frightening how quickly life can change......not only, sadly, the loss of life for those who die........but for their nearest and dearest...... and even those on whose lives they only lightly touch.

Mikey loved his Opera, as do I, and there is now another thread for him with a beautiful area from Madame Butterfly. I need more tissues.... Sleep well all. I am off to bed.

Hello, Elle!
Glad you found the "Mikey" thread!
He was looking forward to being retired.
The pensions office had been in touch with him and he was pleased with what they had to say.
I think he had a caravan somewhere that he often went to, for a weekend, etc.
Often, on Fridays, he would post of that weeks bargains in Lidl!
Always several things that Mikey thought were great value and passed the info on to fellow AB'ers!
I think you certainly responded to his Everyman queries, and as Malone said, there were ones from "i" newspaper, too.
Funny how we all thought of Greyfriars Bobby!

Good morning, Elle!
Fine frosty morning here!
Good news from Korea!
Eve and team are into the semis.
The beat Canada (I feared Canada!) in the early hours.
Kyle and the mens team are in a play-off to reach the semis.
So, our curlers going along nicely!
And Sofia Goggia has won gold in the downhill.
Lindsey Vonn in second place.
I went for my paper earlier and had a bit of a walk after that.
A great day here!

Good morning rusty
I just noticed Mikey's tribute thread has been moved to the top. So many more ABers have now added their memories and kind thoughts. The news section won't be the same without him
