Hi, Rusty!
We are back home again......
We made it just before it went dark....but then got caught up with neighbours, and phone calls........
A busy afternoon!
How did your "cross country" race go?
Did it have the outcome you wished?
We are going to have dinner from the chip shop tonight!
I am looking forward to it.......

Hello, Elle!
The "cross country" was fine!
Nobody got lost, or took the wrong course!
Yes, I was pleased with the race.
Tom Scudamore rode the winner for trainer Michael Scudamore (his brother) and two French horses were 2nd and 3rd.
What are you getting from the chip shop?
I ate macaroni and cheese for my tea.
It came from the butcher.
Was fine!

Hi, Rusty!
I had a jumbo sausage, my husband had cod, and we shared a large portion of chips.
Very nice it was, too!
I am glad you enjoyed your macaroni and cheese.
What a versatile butcher you have!
I like the idea of ready meals on occasions!
ATP tennis Semi finals and Final this weekend, I think?
I haven't yet looked in the TV guide to see what is on, when.....
I shall set the recorder in the hope of watching some of it.
I have no idea as yet what we shall be doing this weekend.......

Hello, Elle!
If it was me at the chip shop, I would get haddock and chips!
Or haggis. Or a black pudding.
The butcher is excellent.
They have farms and rear their own cattle, etc.
A good going business.
The Philadelphia marathon is on Sunday but I can not see it in the TV listings.
Young Miss Muir has won the British Writers' Female Athlete of the Year Award.
She is delighted!
Sir Mo won the mens' award.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, now if I were at your chip shop , Rusty, I should have haggis, too!
But unfortunately, we do not have such delicacies as haggis - or the dreaded black pudding, either!
And all the fish on offer - cod/ haddock/ place /rock/skate/scampi/ is battered ( and I hate batter!)
We can get an assortment of pies....minced meat/ meat and potato/ steak and kidney.
Fish cake/ Sausage / Saveloy
Curried spring roll and Jamaican pattie
Plus various pieces of chicken! from a whole chicken through to nuggets!
Curry sauce/ mushy peas/ onion rings/ gherkins
And "chips with everything"!
And that is your lot!
( I enjoyed my sausage and chips)
Well done, Laura and Mo!
Btw, did you find out any more info about Mo's training here with Paula's husband?
(His name temporarily escapes me)

Hello, Elle!
That seems a good menu at your chipper!
I do not know a Saveloy or Jamaican pattie though?
I think Paula is wed to Gary Lough?
Not sure, mind you.
I have not heard any more about Mo and his training.
And wherever this training will take place.
London or Monaco?

Hi, Rusty!
Gary Lough! yes, that is who I mean!
I could not remember his name!
I have heard no further news as to where Mo is to be in training...but there has been a lot of publicity saying that he wants to be in London?
I don't know how Gary Lough fits that in with residing in Monaco?
And a saveloy is a highly seasoned (red) pork sausage , usually boiled , I believe.
Tastes disgusting!
I have no idea as to what constitutes a Jamaican pattie!
It is just listed on the menu.
I'd swap you for a haggis!
I have just been catching up with "Casualty"!

Hello, Elle!
I remember Mo saying he missed London and was coming home to raise his family there.
Now, Paula lives in Monaco, but does Gary?
I have no idea.
These athletes often go abroad to train.
I know there are many pro cyclists living in Monaco.
Froome lives there.
I think there are tax advantages to living there.
I shall give the Saveloy a miss.
The Jamaican pattie might be OK though?

Good morning, Rusty!
Well, all is okay at the moment........"light" has returned to my screen.......!!
But whew! what a problem I have been having........
I do not know if this could be due to a recent update?
My computer screen went nearly black about 10 pm last night.......and a little notice appeared telling me that I would be waking up in nine and a half hours at 7.30 am!
All my investigations, done with difficulty in near screen darkness, led me to think that some kind of "night time" setting has come into being, restricting the lighting on the screen.
I have tried following various operative instructions telling me how to alter this...... but the appropriate "sliding" device appears to be missing from the relevant programme!
I was then advised that if this were missing, I should use the knobs on my monitor to adjust the brightness........
But the only knob I have on my monitor is the On/Off switch!
A mystery!
My daughter is baffled!
She will check it out for me when she comes!
But as the screen is now bright again this morning, I am assuming that my above theory must be correct in some way?
Anyway, it looks like I am back in business at least until 10 o'clock tonight!

I am now away out with the dog............
