This was a lot of fun. I don't like ghosts, as a rule, but it makes all the difference when you're expecting them.

20d: Is the first word the definition?
22a: If so, I have ?T?A?M, which seems hopeless. Maybe a little hint?

22D the first word is the fodder & ghost.

Rossim and Syzzie are correct with their above statements.

I have realised now that it appears that we have an extra puzzle with not quite knowing which is the Def and which is the Fodder, however, a lot of the themed type crosswords (inc past Harpers) have had this quality of having to get some of the words first and then treat them in a sorta wordsearchy way to start the grid fill. I feel it's worked ok on the whole.
I have had a few emails to identify the 'Double Ghost' correctly so it must be fair enough.

I agree with what's been said by Rossim and others, that ghost anagrams are completely unfair in conventional crosswords when not expected but can be kinda fun when you know they're in there somewhere.
