Anyone started this late3st rainbow quiz? Another good one, solved about 50 and 'hit the wall'

Yes - it's great to have another of these quizzes to tackle. It's early days to be asking for help, but I don't see how I'm ever going to resolve my problem with no. 30. The first part of the clue gives me 'L' as the 6th letter of the answer, but 'American bimbo' gives me 'I'. Can anyone help me to decide which it should be?

Bill if only I could I would...stuck on that myself. Yes it's early to ask for helpful hints but when you get stuck it's good to have a little nudge. What else are you stuck on, bearing in mind that I've only solved about 50 so far.

The 1st part, 6 letters, is an American word for a brainless person/bimbo (nothing to do with an anagram)

sorry that should be 7 letters for the first part not 6

Thank you, Scarlett. If the American bimbo has an I in the 6th place, though, then so does the overall word. But I've not come across that word; the usual word - and the one given in Chambers - has an L in the 6th place place. I'm still puzzled!

I've got over 60, but have come to a temporary (I hope!) halt.
Haven't got number 30 despite the hints above.

That was what I was driving at, Scarlett. Is the bimbo Twinkle? The dictionary says Twinkie.
