Hello all! This thread has been busy - thanks for your help Jazzgirl. I managed to get the capital city without help!!!! I feel I have the wrong answer to 14d though as it doesn't seem to fit in with other clues, eg. 22a and 24a. Hope I am not giving any games away but had countdown for 14d - am I wrong? Nice to hear from Mrs Trellis - fond memories of Humph and friends!

14d not Countdown. The quiz you want is on BBC1 in the early evening and the clue is "having no purpose" . I love the presenters btw :)

Hello,everyone.I've just logged on to RT45 for the first time.
I would never have got 18A.I never watched Friends.
Jazzgirl,thanks to your clue,I got 21D.
I am now just stuck on 16A,23A and 17D.The answers will probably dawn later tonight,but any clues would be welcome.
