I took 6d to be a cryptic definition. Warm meaning affectionate?
For 8a think alphabetically. As it happens, if you were playing 26a and held the “first 11“ this is the longest word you could make.

I made a promising start to this but ground to a halt. No NW filled in yet. Assuming that 8a def is last two words but still can't really parse it despite hints here.

Can anyone give me a gentle hint for the second word in 13d? I can't bring to mind a word that isn't in the clue.

The wordplay uses UK, but it didn't necessarily have to have been that; BBC would work just as well, for example (or lots and lots more).

In 6d, isn't "something warm" just an alternative definition? Assuming I got the answer right of course.
