If anyone is still out there, in spite of all the hints and help I still can't get 10 Across and 29 Down. I am also unsure of 21 Across and 18 Down.
On another tack, this is only my third try at an EV puzzle and I don't understand why sometimes a two word answer isn't specified as such. ( i.e. 19 Across and 1 Down ). Is this customary ?

Hi samovar, both 1d & 19a are hyphenated rather than 2 word solutions.

18d and 21a are linked: definition of 18d is a loan and 21a is an old name for a ruler. Adding I and S ('I succeeded') to the answer to 21a gives 18d. Both have a two letter light.

I've completed the grid (although I can't parse 12d -slumber) and see the 'Henry' on the first 5 letter pairs. Now I'm stuck on the remaining 7 later pairs. Any help gratefully received.
