I've got 24dn as a type 2. Put a prefix meaning "before" in front of the answer and it should become clear.

Thanks peterm. All clear now. I'd double-counted 27d as type 1 and 2 and not counted 27a (type 3) at all so thought I was a type 3 short rather than a type 2.
If you see what I mean!

All done and seem to connect but the clue area on my page is such a mess of scored out bits, joining arrows, type 2-4 numbers and added/subtracted letters that I can't face trying to marry everything up so I'll just assume it's perfect!

Although.....if I have the Spanish omelette correct, no matter your accent, the second half is pronounced tee-ya (sort of) Level?

OK they are/were both editors of the Grauniad...AR is a bloke, KT isn't, defn as 28D.

4D is a type 2 clue defined at 5D

Had definition, was torn between right answer & 'tend', but could justify neither!

And yes, I do have some hair....on both side of my head, with a rather large parting :-(
