Yes, I was also misled by 7. The clue needs to be read : 'Article Aragon is...' - 'used' becomes almost redundant.

Oh dear, I also had ear for 7 down. I now only have 7 clashes and do not know what 7 down is - but at least I have 36 dropped letters!!!

Notrab - 28d is anagram of cheats minus C with shortform for second giving a Scottish serving dish. My problem is 7d and 15a. Any ideas?

Smartie, 7 is point, as in point a rifle; 15 is cuts as in cuts of meat. IN is included in an obsolete 3-letter word for praise.
