Felicity, your answer to 49 is correct. The EL is an elevated railway. And first name is phonetic spelling.

Can you help at all with 27. They don't get drunk, although let loose among plenty. (8)

I've seen other hints for this one but still haven't managed to find an answer.

You need a Chambers Dictionary for most of this quiz. It's really helpful. I got mine from EBay for just 1p plus postage. If you google the anagram answers you have got, you will find one of them adequately fits the clue.

Betty, if you have a Roget's you will find the answer under dregs or sediment, can't remember which.
I would have thought the purpose of this site is for people to help each other solve quizzes and crosswords in an amicable way regardless of prizes which don't mean much. If this offends you why log in? It would seem as though it's just to have a rant and feel superior. How sad!
