More nouns seem to be becoming verbs like athletes talking about they're hoping to "medal" in the Olympics. (I know - the bard did a lot of that, but with rather more style). Dictionaries may soon have instead of the likes of n., v.t., or adj. just w. for whatever you feel like.

Ah, the first three letters of the answer are also defined as "to move quickly" in Chambers! Still looking for the extra letter in 30 across. I had E as the extra letter for 31 across but presumably that's wrong. I've had a full grid for a couple of days now but I'm still trying to figure out the first part of the message (and the originals of most of the "rogues").

Sorted the first part of the message now and the second part, apart from the derivation of the extra letter of 28 down.
