When you see "oddly" in a cryptic clue it usually means use the odd numbered letters. Look for something fiery in the odd-numbered letters of one of the words in the clue.

Hi Rufus

No. 59 Answer is a monkey contained in the House of Reps

Second part of clue is an alternative definition of the word - had to rely on chambers as the alternative definition wasn't in most other dictionaries

Only three to go 44,54 and 72 any clues greatly appreciated

Rufus...funny how some of the apparently easy and obvious ones like 54 and 72 can catch us out...... although I already had them quite early on I still haven't got 62 or 65, which look as if they should be obvious, plus 19 others. Still time to go though.

Hi Twinsman

No 63 Alternative meaning of ratings and a simple song should give you the answer.

No 65 Anagram of 3rd and 4th words without a key (musical) Think of what a colt is (other than the obvious)

Still can't see reason for 54 I thought along the lines suggested by Rufus but it doesn't seem to fit right (like other clues)

Any clues please for
29. Powerful policemen get a parched throat at the end of a bout of drinking! (3,7)

39. Sailor followed Mona to church – to hold in a tight grip! (6,6)

48. Tanks appear when drowned valley is reshaped with water on both sides. (7)

I just can't see anything for these

Thanks newquizzer, knew 65 was to do with a musical key, kept thinking of C for some reason. Will do 63 later I hope. 54....pronounce refuse in a different way, not the way when you won't do something, then it will be more obvious, at least it was to me!
