Hello, Pigale!
Nice to hear from you!
I told Emma my favourite moment was the arrival of Lassie!
Like waiting for Santa Claus!
I am always a bit wary of "updates".
I think it switched my spell-checker on, goodness knows why.
This local festival has turned into a three day event now.
It is very popular.
My only gripe is the loud music that goes on.

Hi, Rusty!
Ah...well, I partially remembered correctly, didn't I?
First and third are both very good!
And I recalled Miss L-B's photo being in the newspaper last year, so thinking back, thought she had won!
Good luck for this year!
I've scrolled though all the other photos in the current issue of the Courier , in the link you just sent ---- the Show looks a most popular and successful event!
I looked up the park on Google ...and it looks a grand place?
Very handy to have it so close to you.
Is this where the Nature trail is, that you often mention?

Hello, Pigale!
It is good to see you back !
I went through something very similar with my computer after an update, a while back, if you remember?
Chaos reigned...it was madness!
There was something about it on the News.......apparently a lot of people were affected.
I am glad it is all sorted for you, now.
Yes, BB is staying for a sleepover on Sunday night, as Monday is an "Inset" day, and his school is closed....the first day of the new term being Tuesday.
As mum and dad will both be at work, he is spending Monday here with us.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, pic 12 is my daughter-in-law's winning entry in the bake a cake competition, last year.
It is a very popular festival.
Yes, Camperdown is an excellent park.
THe Nature Trail is there, and a zoo, and a golf course, and tennis courts, and stables.
Admiral Duncan was a local lad.
When the Dutch Vice-Admiral surrendered to him after the battle, he offered his sword in surrender to Admiral Duncan, but the Admiral refused, saying he would much rather shake the hand of a brave man, rather than take his sword.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I saw the picture of the cake - it looked mouth -watering - although I didn't realise then that this was your daughter-in -law's cake!
I've just made a coffee...... a piece of cake would go with that very nicely!
Did you know there is also a Camperdown in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk?
I wonder whether there is any connection?

Good morning, Elle!
A nice morning here!
Yes, my daughter-in-law's cake looks good.
She does not think that this year's cake is as good, however, but said she is going to practice more ahead of next year's festival!
I hope they get fine weather for this year's festival.
Yesterday was a nice day, and I hope it continues!
Now, I wonder if Great Yarmouth is the same place as Yarmouth?
Admiral Duncan's fleet was based at Yarmouth, and returned there after the Battle of Camperdown.
What "Camperdown" is at Great Yarmouth?
It looks as if there is most certainly a connection.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have a beautiful day here, too!
Sunshine with warmth!
We are just back from our walk.......a tad on the late side today.
Now...Great Yarmouth, although often referred to as "Yarmouth" by the locals, is not the same place as Yarmouth "proper".
Great Yarmouth is on the coast in Norfolk...and it was from here that Admiral Duncan's fleet sailed to the Battle of Camperdown against the Dutch.
Yarmouth is another place entirely, and is on the Isle of Wight.
I couldn't find much information about the Camperdown area in Great Yarmouth, but I should think that the area name came from the connection with Battle of Camperdown, don't you agree?

Hello, Elle!
A bit overcast here now!
I did not know that about the "Yarmouths"!
Thank you for the info, Elle!
Yes, Camperdown at Great Yarmouth is bound to be to do with the battle, I'd venture.
It appears to have been the home port for Admiral Duncan's fleet.
There is a Camperdown Road in Dundee, and on it there is a pub, called...."The Admiral"!
And I know of a Duncan Terrace not far from there.
I was speaking to the ASDA girls earlier and some of them had been to the Festival yesterday.
The gin tent was very popular.
Free tasters of all the local gins.
Some great flavours apparently.

Hi, Rusty!
I have actually been both to Great Yarmouth, and to Yarmouth on the I.O.W.
We stayed (many years ago) in Freshwater Bay on the south of the Isle of Wight, only about four miles. from Yarmouth, which is on the west.
A most enjoyable holiday.
We took our own children, our son's friend, and the four cats and a dog...and rented a house!
Chaos should have reigned, but it all went very smoothly!
A happy memory!
I liked those cater-for -yourself holidays!
Are you going to the Food and Flower Show today?
Don't forget the Athletics in an hour's time - should you want to watch, or record it?

Hello, Elle!
I used to like renting a cottage in the wilds of Wester Ross.
My boys loved it!
I plan on going to the festival tomorrow.
I'll likely just walk up to it on my own.
I have already seen the athletics on EuroSport.
I may watch a bit of the Tour of Spain, though.

Hi, Rusty!
I hope that EuroSport showed the Diamond Leagues in full?
All we got from the BBC for both the Zurich and Brussels Leagues were the Highlights.......
A poor effort really, as it was all so rushed.
There is often no proper lead up telling you who is competing.......instead they tend to go right into the event..... and the viewer is left to pick up on who is taking part from the commentary as it goes along.
I find that very frustrating and annoying.
Laura Muir did very well in the 1500m , didn't she?
Beating Shelby Houlihan and Sifan Hassan was a wonderful achievement!
How is the Tour of Spain going?
