A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
It is a warm sunny day here!
No jacket needed when out with the dog.
I am just having a coffee, then I am off out to have my hair cut.
Yes, hopefully, my daughter and grandsons will have arrived safely by the time I am home again at lunch time!
I wonder will the chick survive if he has indeed started his migration?
He seems to have been relying far too much on Laddie to provide his food.....

Hi, Rusty!
The family has arrived safely!
Their arrival coincided with mine, just as I reached home from the hairdresser's.
I have duly fed and watered everyone, and now am being called upon to play a card game called Happy Families..
Do you know that?
It is basically a memory game.
How is your own day going?

Good evening, Rusty!
We have been playing card and board games........
But now our eldest grandson is going to play his violin for us.
He has an exam soon and needs to practise.
We are a "captive audience!!
No, but seriously, he is getting very adept at playing and is doing well.
I am glad your book about "Lady" has arrived, and is in excellent condition.
Funnily enough , one of the last lot of books I ordered is ex- Fife Council Libraries!
And that too is in good condition - and still encased in its Library plastic jacket!
The musician is about to begin.....

Good morning, Rusty!
Dull here, and cooler now, after a very hot and sticky night!
I am just back from the park with the dog.....
The children and their mum are paying "Sorry" - an excellent board game!
And my husband is reading the paper.
(The Sunday Times lasts us all the week!)
The plan for today is to go to Polhill Garden Centre....in Badger's Mount. near Sevenoaks.
That is a nice drive out into the country..... and we need some more plants for my patio pots/ tubs. and for my hanging baskets.
The cafe there also does a good bacon roll, and suchlike!
How about you?
What do you have planned for the day?

Hi, Rusty!
Thank you... it's nice to spend time all together.
Yes, I am sure I will have mentioned Sevenoaks previously!
Badger's Mount is about 15 miles away from us, so we should be there in about 30 to 40 minutes. depending on the traffic.
I haven't had chance to look at any crosswords since the boys arrived!
Maybe later.....
I hope your family business goes okay........
Off out now.....
Catch you later!

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, thank you, we had a great day out!
The plants on offer were a little disappointing - maybe due to the hot weather? - but I bought some lovely pansies for the stone pots by the front door.
There are also various "shop" sections at the Garden Centre, so the boys bought some books......as did I; I got three books for £10 - a very reasonable offer!
I also got two very attractive polo shirts from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill section.
And guess what? I had a delicious bacon roll for my lunch!
I am so sorry to hear that you and your sons had to attend a funeral.
Sadly, these seem to crop up all too frequently these days......
Did you not want Amazon to send you another copy of the "Dictionary of the Unexplained" rather than a refund?
Or was that not an option?

Hi, Rusty!
The last two funerals we attended were humanist ones.......
Very nicely carried out.....
I think the emphasis there tends to be more a celebration of the person's life?
I wonder, though, if this in its way is not more distressing to those left behind?
Or maybe it should be seen as a comfort?
I don't know...?
Yes, I understand about the book - I wasn't thinking it through properly.......
My brain is exhausted with memory games...and strategy games!!!
We are forecast rain tomorrow!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, that sounds good.
Although none of those are artists / groups with whom I am very familiar.
My father's funeral was near Christmas time and we had two of his favourite carols, sung by Bing, as we walked in and out of the chapel.
He would have loved that......
Bing was his favourite singer!
The hymn "Jerusalem" was sung at the last Humanist funeral we attended.
Although maybe it was not looked upon as a "hymn", if seen from the Humanist approach.......
I think "And did those feet in ancient time..." is actually a poem by William Blake?

Good morning, Rusty!
A rather drizzly day here....
I only got damp, though, on my walk rather than wet!
That is good that you have found another copy of your book.
The ones that I bought (brand new) yesterday at Polhill should have cost about £26......and I got three for a total of £10!
We are awaiting a friend arriving - she has known my daughter since daughter was a tiny tot...so is looking forward to seeing her and the boys.
Later, about midday, we shall all go out to the Toby Carvery for lunch.
Violin practice at the moment...it is sounding good.!
