Hello, Jazzgirl!
I find that surprising, I thought they were all over.
I quite like them.
Their prices undercut the likes of TESCO etc and they have many own brands.
They are a German chain. Lots of German sausage etc!
I get lots of their yogurts.
My son got a lovely lobster in one not so long ago, but it was not a lobster they called it.
The name escapes me, but Norway was mentioned, I think?
The only thing I do not like about Lidl stores is the fact that there are always queues at the check-outs!

hello rusty
I have just checked online and there is one in Twickenham ( 7 miles away) thoughts of "Three men in a boat" now....
Gness's post regarding the people in the aisles crying at the wine offers was wonderful !

Hello, Jazzgirl!
There you are! 7 miles is not too far!
I am sure you could have a wee browse on-line to get the flavour of the place, and spot the bargains!
Gness's sense of humour appeals to me!

Seven miles is OK rusty, but driving into Twickenham is a trial, especially when there is a Rugby match on

Hi, Rusty!
I got involved in cutting the cat's toenails!
Now...karaoke......Goodness, I would never have the confidence ( nor the voice!) to stand before people and perform on my own!
Nor would anyone want to hear me! I do not think I am very tuneful!
I would love to see/ hear you though!
And Miss O!
Speaking of singing...I have "The Voice" this evening; it is not on till 8.30 tonight though.
I have read that the children's version of the show is coming back again, too.
That is also extremely good.

I do not like Lidls......
I find the shop somewhat untidy?
I am assuming it is to save money/ cut costs.......and maybe sell their goods cheaper?.......but the articles on sale are left in cardboard boxes, not unpacked and stacked tidily on the shelves.
I had wondered whether this only applied to our local branch......but I had occasion to go into a Lidl shop elsewhere and discovered the same situation there.
I consequently avoid it.

Right.......time for a coffee before my programme starts........

I see, Jazzgirl!
That's a pity, though.
I do as little driving as I can get away with, nowadays!
My Lidl is just over 2 miles away and I sometimes pop in if I am passing.
I like the yogurts and cheese and the fruit.
And two years ago, I bought a pair of fleece-lined trousers, there, for the winter walking, quite cheaply!
I like Lidl's.

Hi, Rusty!
My post crossed with yours to Jazzgirl......
Are your Lidl shops tidy?
I cannot abide the "messiness" of ours!
I like things well- regulated!

Do not be influenced by what I have said, though, Jazzy, it may be that the goods are unpacked and put on shelves in Twickenham!

Hello Elle
Lidl in" Twickers" (local nickname !) has a 4-star rating. The folk there seem to like it

I have just found another Lidl in Kingston on Thames.(more thoughts of Three men in a boat ) I go there often and the drive is usually fine and good parking in the John Lewis multi-storey. I may visit the wine aisle :0)

Hello, Elle!
I would say that my Lidl's has improved a lot in the last year or two.
I can only fault the checkouts and that is because I do not like queueing.
Other than that, I am perfectly happy there.
I get excellent value and I like that.
Elle, the karaoke is fun.
Nobody expects me to sound like Mario Lanza or Bing!
You go up, give it a go, and come off to a round of applause no matter how bad you were.
It's a bit of fun, nothing else!
Now, Miss O is different, she is good.
Last time she did two songs.
Not sure what the first one was,
But the second was "Sing Me an Old-Fashioned Song" and she was great!
Had the place jumping!
I admit I am a bit biased, though!
