I would draw your attention to the second sentence of the preamble.

Yes, the last 3 letters of the 1st across answer, and the first 3 letters of the 4th down answer are represented by a symbol.

Thank you Clueless22, I was being stupid. I'm still really struggling with all this cold solving. A hint towards the across and down messages from the extra letters might help me to do more solving.

for solving.

I too am finding this hard going but I have the following

Wander about street wheeling arms (4)
GATS = arms GAD (wander) about TS (street wheeling)
with D as the extra letter

Potato rings? (4)
ALOO = potato HALO + O (both rings) with H as the extra

Capuchins are populating US islands (4)
Not solved yet

Fly to linger on the scent round plants (6)
TSETSE = fly TIE(linger on the scent) about SETS (plants) with I being extra

I'd be happy to get help on the "Vandalise.... " clue.
Cheers

I am struggling also, particularly with matching any down and across lights and I have no cells with 2 letters yet. However. I think that I have the down message and word. The message is 3 words (3,5 and 9) and the word is 9 letters. I hope this helps.

I've got a full grid now, apart from the 2 blank cells. I can see the film, but not the club or the 2 stars.

Let me know if you need any help/hints for any of the clues.

Hi

I've got 3/4 of the clues but struggling a bit at the moment with some of the across ones:

Cub skipping about eats off metal plate (6)
Somewhere to go to roll up stocking in Australia (6)
Fleece East German in Sterling (4)
Small tree restricts monkeys (5)

I have the first 4 acrosses and similarly the first half a dozen down but can't see how to start slotting them together.

Any help gratefully received!
