Hi ChriseE Question for you I have been trying to studying up on setting clues and I am still at a loss to why sometimes people ask if it is an across or down clue and why it makes a difference. Have googled but no luck so far!!!!

If a down clue says something like "coming up" it means part of the clue ,if read backwards, contains the answer!

(What bernie said!) Across clues would more probably say "back" rather than "up"

Thanks Bernie and ChrisE didn't know that and I have been dying to ask for ages but didn't want too look stupid !!!! I was also told that the definition was always at the beginning or the end but again not always the case !!! So much to learn x

Across clues also might say 'heading west' to in indicate it hidden backwards

Using Chrome, I keep getting a message that a "Shockwave Plug-in isn't responding", with the option of closing it - less serious than the crashes in IE, though.

I have decided I am really smart I manage to answer, occasionally, some clues not knowing the cryptic indicators etc LOL Night x
