New to the forum. Hi to all. I think i have this one complete now (with some help from the above posts) except for 20d where i have a musical answer but no idea how to get there. Any pointers?

The answer to the clue at 5A is X. The word that goes in the grid is Y.

Do you all consider X and Y as "well-known partners"?

I'm not too happy with that one. Oh well ....

Finding this tough...can anyone confirm that 2D is a normal clue that seems to rely on a misspelling of "rake"?

Yes it's a normal clue. Probably the hardest of the bunch in my opinion. There ain't no misspelling. The words "all about" are vital to solving.

Sorry, I still have 2D to do (is there a mis-spelling of rake?).

As well as 1A, 5A,12A, 3D and 8D!

I'm pretty sure 2D relies on a misspelling...either that or it's an indirect anag.
