Hi all, unlike most of you I'm finding this week's quite painful. Stuck on 3d and 8a, also 19d. Hints pretty please? Also for 9a I have the obvious style of architecture but can't work out why.

Hi Mrs T
3d is a town on the way to your part of the world from England - named after a famous engineer.

9a alos refers to a style of novel (e.g. Th Fall of the HOuse of Usher)
8a FRench for "of" followed by a leader (?) to give the name of a (naughty) collection of tales in Italian.
19dn is clever - the spring is not of the water kind; neither is the bank

I too used to have RT delivery reliability problems here in France. A chat with my local Bar/Tabac resulted in him stocking the RT,available without fail every Friday, except for the occasional 'greve', and cheaper than the subscription price demanded by'the media group'
My first submission to the forum so m'excuse if this finishes up in the wrong location

Merci, Mme/Mlle Jazzgirl!
Unfortunately I live in a part of France where no shopkeeper or whatever could possibly be interested in organizing something like that as a service: you're very lucky! It has other advantages, of course...
