Endless supply, plenty for a whale.
supply = cache (minus the e)
plenty = a lot
this gives another name for the Sperm Whale)

I've just checked in and noticed chrisg's parsing of 7a. I had used the wordplay differently: said (spoken) placed outside "softly" (P)
It still give the same answer though ;)

It was a new word to me too, Mondrian.
I had every other letter and found it in Quick Solve !
