I am going to E-mail the setter and Ask for a hint.No guarantee they will reply but ,if they do you, shall all be the first to know.

Just a thought

They may not be single numbers, as in the 3rd set 111714
Could it be read as:
First, Eleventh, Seventh, Fourteenth. OR
Eleventh, Seventeenth, First, Fourth.
So that they are Ordinal instead of Cardinal numbers.

What do you think?

Just had a play with that idea with the alphabet and it doesn't work, but then again, we don't know if it's meant to be the alphabet, does it give a clue towards the origin of the formula andyc?

I have just sent a long E-mail asking for a slight hint.I am only here for another week and nobody else has solved it.(see original post).I have tried all the predictive text theories ,transposing codes etc.but no luck.

I've just been on the goecaching site and watched the 2 minute vid, it talks about GPS devices.
So, are the numbers in your first post some sort of coordinates that have to be tracked or mapped (longitude/latitude maybe)?
