Evening, I wish you all good health!
I found the bottom left-hand corner very difficult this week.
Speaking of soldering on, can anyone give me a clue for 1 down. Pass on soldiers' song.
?e?a?

Glorious day here and still is at 6pm. Big problem for me this week re crossword. With all that digging in the garden my brain seems to have stopped working properly.

Stuck on 3Down - Diggers late hours
(and how apt is that with my working in garden!!)
12Across - Supportive icy stem coils round track
10A Eastern French department to struggle for brandy.

I see Old gal has had trouble with the digger thing as well. And I too wondered if it was to do with Aussies.

Help Jazz girl, or even Caravaggio or anyone, please.

Hello Mondrian
I too have spent a lot of time in the garden today in the garden as it is so sunny here.
You and old gal seem to be stuck on the same clues.
3d is the name given to the unpopular work done between midnight and 8 a.m. First word synonym for cemetery.
12A - anagram of "icy stems path = supportive.
10a is the name of a Brandy (water of life also)
Does this help?
Best wishes
J
