23 is the thing at the end of your wrist, and 14 is a posh word for the promenade at the seaside.

Thank you for putting me out of my misery. Might have got 14d if I hadn't made a daft error on 18a(now corrected). As for 23a it's often the very short ones that prove the most tricky.

Hello on this lovely sunny Saturday! Thanks to clues posted, am not doing too badly. I dont actually send in any of the crosswords - mainly because I dont finish them until too late but also like doing it for myself! Any road up,my last horrors are 19d, 24a and 8d - have the second word for 8d but am struggling with the first! Enjoy your weekend, folks!

24A first 2 letters are abbreviation of Royal Engineers (soldiers) the remaining part means "a part of a whole, eg. 1/2, or 3/4 " Hope this helps. Back again soon
