Congrats ixion.

I know it must be a brilliant clue, and I'm slightly embarrassed to write this, but I don't understand it. Could you explain please?

Phew! Thanks, peterm. I'm in the slow lane too. I've been trying to work out Spoonerisms and am further confused by the fact that there's an earlier one. Liked your clue, by the way (as always). Oh- and congratulations, ixion! I'll catch up with you in a bit I trust.

I don't understand it either. I wouldn't have dared admit it if somebody as good as peterm hadn't gone first.

Paddy Hitler(Adolfs nephew) a Liverpudlian...Spoonerism is meant to be (he adores)/lover...loverpiddlin....admittedly tenuous but just about works I think.

Thanks for the explanation dja (and the flattery rambler).

I've just googled Paddy Hitler. I'm absolutely stunned.
