Thanks for the warm wishes for Scotland, Nimrod. Today Friday morning it is actually a bit warmer and here the snow is staring to go leaving lots of slush. I have still got some clues to answer but I haven`t got my list. I hope Mrs Robtherich likes her, presumably, new name!!

Mondrian: Mrs Rtr doesn't know about this site or how to access it; she assumes I'm porning all day long. I hide my Radio Times in Nipples Weekly!

Evening All - well, I succumbed and bought No:50 and then raced through the puzzle [except for those two answers which just won't reveal themselves]. I'm wondering whether we've not gone back to the previous Compiler? I always found his mindset much easier than that of the most recent compiler which is why I wonder... But I regret my impatience a little because I haven't got this one to look forward to any more. Ah well!
I hope you are all safe and warm; no slipping on icy pavements etc. Please take care of yourselves. This is a bit of self interest because I love this thread and the conversation of you all; I would miss every one of you.
Seriously, take care.

EVENING ALL

Finished RT50 last nught with little difficulty although I got stuck on 8a for a bit until my old friend Serendipity kicked in. I liked 12a and15a,and17d.

Nimrod.I was interested to read that you are or were a cchorister.I too. Was,that is. And I wonder if you would agree with me that this is the time of year when we are able to listen to and even participate in some of the most beautiful music
ever conceived by man(or woman) while on the other hand(or ear)we are subjected to from every quarter the worst possible music in the name of Christmas. "In the Bleak Midwinter"

Talking of which ,winter that is,I wonder if the thaw is here yet. When I Cchecked the outdoor temperature very early this morning (3am)it was minus 6 c and now at,say,6.45pm it's plus 1.8c but it could freeze up again. It was very slushy though when I was in town today. I think most people are fed up with this now. Efter awe, a joke kin be takin ower faur!

WARMEST GREETINGS

Just completed RT50, like most of the other comments didn't find it too bad - last two clues were 14d and 24a. Better admit though that Mrs Crypto got 19d. My vote for best clue is 8a.
