Well, I have a full grid and now need to stare at the across clues and hope I can fathom some sort of title from the alternative letters! Not having much luck so far... onwards and downwards....
Not sure how much is allowed to be given away, but the first word is the def. There are a couple of synonyms needed for the wordplays but they're pretty standard. Hope this helps.
