Or just a jumble of the letters of Serb around the entry = troops. I wasn't really sure which it was.

Sorry for the previous posts. Now that I just looked at it again, I see both are incorrect. It's actually just upset Serb going around the entry = troops.

An interesting one this. Some of the clues stretch definitions in my book, but there were some clever clues too.

I can’t figure out the wordplay for the Youngster clue, though the answer is clear, so if anyone can give me a hint how it works it could set my mind at rest…

2 letter "youngster emptied" is reversed/'picked up' and goes around/'bottles' 2 letter "by" then single letter for "the Northern" and "line"

Sorry, "youngster ... empty" not emptied.
