CD (@13), not only did I have the wrong category but also 2 out of the 4 words I had were incorrect. I now have the seven unclued words but struggling to find a common connection linking all of them, so the 8th is currently proving a little elusive.

Thank you candledave. I think you are referring to the 5th and 9th letters of the member in question ?

Yippee - got there in the end. "Son1", that is where my gaps are.

Returning to Listeners after a long absence, and relieved that this seems doable ... but have to say I'm still fairly rusty!

Confused by 2ac and 4ac, which I think are the main barriers to further progress, particularly as I am not sure I've got the down entries in the area correct.

As if by magic, I solved them both shortly after posting! But definitely confused about whether I've put the downs in the right order. Possibly the confusion is about what would go at 3dn/9dn, but I'll get to that.

The last across I need is 13ac... I was assuming "a small amount of liquid" might be ml, and pulp is the definition, but that didn't seem to work.

You're on the right lines for "small amount of liquid"

claretgold, in 13a it’s a larger small amount of liquid than ml. The box is horticultural.
