There are similar threads started for the Listener & EV - also boastful characters?

I've seen these other threads, which DO NOT start with the weekly boastful comment! :-)

All the threads are started by people who have already completed the crossword.
They usually make a comment on the crossword in general terms and I really can't see what is boastful about that!
I went back and re-read K's posting and just cannot see what he has said to upset you so?
Why have you chosen to make an issue of it on THIS forum?

Anyway guys, 27d) I have c?msult so I need one letter in a 7 letter word. Two questions - 1, is this a record? and 2, what's the missing letter? Well maybe 3, are the six letters I have correct?

Why should it be boastful to say that you've finished a particular crossword? Competitive, if you like. People tha contribute to this forum seem to be crossword addicts, and so presumably they finish the ones they're interested in.

I thought that one (34a) was lorimers
