Yes m. But I'm taking a wild shot in the dark and guessing that it's the British Schools Museum quiz Hitchin. Shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong.

I maintain that 'scargill' is incorrect. There is a town in Durham, founded in 1948 and named after a local (to Durham) miners' leader.

I agree that Leslie's answer fits the clue better, especially given that it is a town with a name derived from a leader of the Durham miners.

So let's forget "King Arthur" (I wish I had!).

I have been puzzling over this clue..."Commander who went down in history in 1912 [4,5]. Seems it must be referring to the Titanic, but the Captain was called Edward John Smith. Could there be a different incident? [ Scott's expedition was in that year but couldnt find any name there to fit]
Or is there something I am missing? Would be glad of any help.
