The Italian expression 1, 6'5, deals with the number of eyes involved in a face to face between two people.

I'm very impressed with all those on here who have finished. I'm about a third of the way through and completely stuck. Any hints for these would be much appreciated:

B3 College girl, 11 (5) [I though Clare but that won't fit with others]

C3 Leaves navy of old coastal city (4) [I can't get any wordplay here]

D1 Wanton desire to receive a perk, possibly (5)

E2 Break clean from a faction (10, three words)

B3. 11refers to clue 11 which has the same definition.
C3. Have a cuppa cha while you think about this.
D1. Or a cup of coffee...
E2. An anagram of clean from a.
Enjoyed this one. Very clever and gets much easier when you find the theme.

D1 def. perk as in percolate
E2 anagram 'CLEAN FROM A' Def. FACTION contrived word from FACT and FICTION so not what one thinks the definition really means

Thanks, essira and smithsax. That has helped. I shall have to continue thinking about D1 and B3, though. For B3 I have C?IL? and I'm stumped if I can find any girl's name ?IL? except for LILY. Thanks.

Although I finished some time ago I see that I have a completed grid but without actually working out the answer to 29! This appears to start with K and end with L?
