Hi all, still trying to work this one out but 16A is ELITIST....so the four jumbled words have 2Ts and 2Os.....Toot Toot ?? Mean anything to anyone ?

Or is this a reference to OT four times ?

Muraria - thank you for 16a. I suppose it could be OTTO OTTO but still makes no sense to me!

Qesue and Muraria, I am at the same stage as you. I suspect you need the full Chambers 2016 to solve this and the seven books are the seven volumes of this dictionary. I can't see a way of solving it without that set which I regard as totally unfair.

Hi Kobnut, many thanks....so I guess from what you're saying the seven volumes run from A TO ????, ???? TO ????, and so on ? (hence the four TOs)

Think you can work out the missing titles from the words already given.....Back (reverse from the extra letters) to Front is the first.

I have the latest edition but on my iPad. Do you have the 7 unchecked words? The ones I have don't seem to bear any relationship to each other or am I missing something?
