Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful day here...blue sky, sunshine..... albeit very frosty and only 0C!
A good brisk walk this morning!
I am in for the time being now, as I am awaiting a delivery from Amazon!
I am told my parcel has left the depot and will be here before 8pm tonight.
I could wish they were a little more explicit!
Anyway, hopefully it will arrive soon.
How are things at your end?

Good morning, Pigale!
A lovely day here!

Hello Elle!

Lovely day here too - almost like Spring, 10C but with a rather
fresh Northerly wind which brings the temp down somewhat.
Nice to see the sun though, and all the trade people were
there - not like last week where hardly any had come due to snow.

Bought a small Spring top, and had a drink with my usual group
in our favourite café! and a very nice, pleasant walk both ways -
so can't be bad!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Great day here, but cold.
I am going for a wee walk soon, after the curling finishes.
Been catching up on the Olympics.
Shiffrin missed out on gold in the slalom.
That is a major shock.
Frida Hansdotter won.
She has had a good season.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Still lovely here....
I am still waiting for my parcel to come.......
Hopefully, according to the "sliding scale" of progress when I track it , it should not be long now.......
Then I too shall go out for a walk.
Our elder daughter and family are still full of colds and coughs, so will not be coming down this weekend....that is as well, as we do not want a repeat performance of ailments!
I think, all being well, though, we shall see our other daughter and family on Sunday!
That is a shame about Shiffrin - the winner , Frida Hansdotter, is Swedish, I think?
Enjoy your walk!

Hello again, Pigale!
It sounds as though you are having a nice day.
We are hoping to go out soon ourselves........just waiting on my hot air brush arriving!
Lovely here, though still cold.

Hello, Elle!
At least your elder daughter is being sensible by staying home with her big.
Shiffrin was ill before she raced.
The compressed programme due to the winds was not a help, either.
Yes, Frida Hansdotter is Swedish.
I have noticed a lot of Nordic surnames end in -dotter.
Just wondering if Frida had a brother would his name in end in -dotter, or -son?
In Britain a lot of surnames end in -son. In Sweden, too!
Finished my puzzle.
Quite tough. Setter much better educated than me!

Hi, Rusty!
Have you been out?
Did you have a good walk?
I think "dotter" means "daughter"?
And so by the same token, I think that Scandinavian names for males end in "son"?
Daughter of "so -and- so"....... son of "whosit"?
Sounds very sensible to me!
Now my hot air brush has finally arrived!
So I am off out for a walk !
See you soon!

Hello, Elle!
Been for a walk.
Saw a few cars with snow on the roofs.
The webcam at the loch seems to be working again.
I emailed them about it not working, yesterday, but no reply!
I have only recently came across the "dotter" ending in Nordic surnames.
Seems sensible, yes, but many of the female Swedish skiers have surnames ending in -son.
So, I am not sure how this works?

Hi, Rusty!
It was a pleasant walk...surprisingly mild...
I think we must have reached double figures?
A big change from this morning's 0C, when I first went out.
I haven't looked at the Loch webcam for a while.........
When do the ospreys return?
I love following their progress.
Obviously, Swedish surnames are more complicated than I thought!
I liked today's crossword; I actually managed to finish it and parsed everything!
My favourites were 3d, 9a,13a, 14a , 21d and 27a.
I am feeling hungry.... I must hasten dinner along.......
I think we shall eat earlier than usual tonight!

Hello, Elle!
A lot of the loch is frozen over and the ducks etc are in the clear parts.
Laddie arrived at the loch from Africa last year, on 17th March.
Lassie would have been a few days later, I think.
I think I shall investigate Swedish surnames.
Where have all the "-dotters" gone?
I suspect something has changed.
I do not get 27a, for ages.
I had not heard of DH Lawrence. I knew TE, though.
I had my tea earlier.
I have taken Lindsey Vonn to win the Super G tomorrow!
