A belated Good Morning, Rusty!
Just logged in .......
Goodness, you were out and about early!
I get up about 6 and then at 7.45 meet up with a friend (she lives nearby) and we walk our dogs together.
Got back today about 10ish.
Lovely day here now...a bit misty to start with, warming up nicely though.....
I don't watch much television either (unless it's Athletics, of course!) but those Hannah Gordon programmes are going back a long (long) way! Maybe early 1980s? not sure.....
Can't place Jill Gascoine......what was she in?
So have you already finished today's crossword as you had such an early start?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I am up and about early most days!
Jill Gascoine was in The Gentle Touch. She played a policewoman. Possibly Maggie Forbes?
She was in Z Cars and the Onedin Line too.
No, I don't do my crossword (The Times) until around teatime-ish. I have not opened the paper yet!

Hi , Rusty!
Just got in again after another walk - keeps me fit! (or wears me out, sometimes can't decide which!)
Lovely afternoon, warm enough just to be out in T- shirt and jeans.
How's it been with you?
No, don't think I ever watched "The Gentle Touch" but DO remember "The Onedin Line" - (but can't recall Jill Gascoine - wasn't Anne Stallybrass also in it?)
How's the crossword going? I did the Times Quick Cryptic and the Guardian's Rufus this morning, but am still stuck on two from yesterday's Times Jumbo Cryptic!
Don't think I'm going to win there.......will probably need to ask for help eventually.

Not warm here, and I dont own t-shirts or jeans!
I never watched Onedin Line.
I know Jill G lives in USA now but I dont think she acts any more.
I have not done the Jumbo for months.
I give that section to my neighbour.
I have not started my xword yet.
Had a granddaughter here!
A bit like the Heidi story!

Morning, Rusty!
We've got your fog here this morning - couldn't see across the street when I got up ! The sun is trying to break through now though.
I liked your Heidi reference!
I wonder if today's children read our 'old favourites'? My 6 (soon-to-be 7) year old grandson is enjoying Enid Blyton - so maybe they do!
I used to enjoy the Swallows and Amazons series when a child.....
Away now to get my hair cut.......

"Used to enjoy 'Swallows and Amazons' series", elle? I regularly re-read them.

I always read "Winter holiday" when first it snows.

Something went wrong there!

I was just about to add that, when we were in Antwerp, we visited the "NordHinder" lightship that was in dock at the time (as featured in "We didn't mean to go to sea").

Great books, aren't they, Chris
That 's interesting about your visiting the "Nordhinder" lightship. I can see I need to re-read the books myself!
