I like 20 ac where the punctuation is important.
21 dn seems to be a do it ourselves clue. I suggest “What we do about this clue” (but that is not very cryptic).

I was going to ask about the parsing of 1dn, but eventually I saw how it works. Without giving too much away, "a knight" is inside the word for deciding.

I have a word meaning "having kittens" but how can AN be a knight? Being extra thick here.

N is used to designate a knight in chess (more recently, at least).
