I can't imagine it's something they still do. technology and all that. but in the good old days when men were men and they liked nothing better than straining every canvas in a hurricane, etc.etc.

I'd better not say too much or Jolan will turn nasty. but. if you are from a long line of mariners then presumably you don't suffer from seasickness and that will help a lot.
