Are the 'jewels' made from Haribo wine gums? :o) I can well remember as a 7 year old pupil at primary school in 1952, our class being told by our teacher to tell our our parents that the King had died. It should be remembered that few people had television sets back then....most people bought sets the following year (1953) for the Queen's Coronation. My late Mum had already heard the news on the radio (or wireless as it was then called)....it's hard to realise that that was 60 years ago now :o(

Thank you Trevor, thought I'd probably made it the right way up :-))
Everything is edible and Haribos would have been a good idea. The jewels are made from Fox's Glacier Mints (except the "diamonds", which I bought), melted, coloured and set in moulds. Before the hot weather they were faceted.
