Hi everyone! It has taken a while but I am pleased to say I have completed it.
However, 18A, I have unravelled the anagram so I know what it is but I just cannot make
sense of the clue. Can anyone explain it?

Jazzgirl - `morning! Thank goodness for you. I`d got the answer to 18ac but for the life of me couldn`t see the relevance of `fish`!
5d. Again I`ve got the answer but `thousand` could be `m` or `k` and neither seems to fit.
I`m sure you can explain - please.
Did you have to retune your TV this am? Thankfully it was easy. M.

Good morning Magworth
Hope you are feeling better.
5d thousand is K and is lost at the end of the word which then = alliance
I've not yet re-tuned the TV - only just having breakfast :)
Have a good day.

old gal, I almost forgot to say hello to you.
You are ahead of me with your i-Pad. Also, well done on last week's puzzle. Hope you are keeping well.

Does 5d end on t or k? Also confused re 11a. Plenty of rain today. Off to exercise class now followed by tea & hxb. Love to all. Why do I need Dropbox?

You're on top form today! I've no doubt you will get 2d after the hxb's.

Old Gal - glad to hear you`re on top form.
I`ve got 5d ending in B so obviously I`ve got the second word of 11 ac wrong. I thought it was finished!
Thanks, Jazzgirl - my problems are those of old age - arthritis or sciatica. `What can`t be cured must be endured` . M.
