Thanks Les -- now I don't have to rack my brain trying to remember 'The Young Visiters'!

I've just had a look in Chambers, and 'visit(e)rs' is a rare variant of 'visit(o)rs' so maybe it's not too much of a crisis guys.
I've been spelling it with an 'e' for years I think, and just never noticed, I take full responsibility for my error.

And remember everyone, if you spot any more typos or other mistakes, then let me know.
It's not been too bad up to now, only an extra 's' in Lionheart's clue (now updated), an identity letter mix up with airisto/ixion (now updated) and the one just mentioned in the word 'visitors'

Hiya again Bullfrog,

I've just looked up "The Young Visiters" because I've never heard of it and had to smile when I read the opening line explaining it.
I have copy and pasted it for you below.

Ashford wrote the novel at the age of nine, in 1890, in an exercise book. Full of spelling mistakes, each chapter was also written as a single paragraph.

The "full of spelling mistakes" line was the bit that made me smile.

Is anyone else like me hopelessly stuck on the bottom right quarter? Otherwise complicated but manageable!

I'm OK (mostly) in both bottom corners. I enjoyed the clueing for your 2 long words, Greedy Kite.

Q for Lionheart or Les: à propos 5d, can it be that, despite the word "they're" in the clue, in fact the word to be entered is singular?
