22d is clever, but makes sense. 1a took a long time to get and has to be what I've put, but I can't see the logic.

You may have to send me an email because I can't quite grasp what the situation is without knowing what answers you have.

OK, but I don't want to cheat. I have higher moral standards than, say, Lionheart.

I think now in hindsight that maybe I should have clued 1 Across and 22 Down because it has given an advantage to the setters of those clues because they occupy very strategically advantagous positions.

I'm gonna have the lot of you for defamation of character!

aristo, I think you will have the better chance of understanding 1 Across. That's a bit of a clue
