A daddy-long-legs is a harvestman. We have them here- everyone calls them spiders but they aren't.

Hello, I was actually around for most of the day, so was determined to do well...

I didn't, a grand total of 1...daddy-long-legs, which for some reason I always call them dandy-long-legs.

Could not get past conduct for no 1, and drew blanks for the rest.

Still enjoyed trying though

Rather more endearing, though I might feel otherwise with a magnifying glass in hand.

In England, what we call daddy-long-legs are actually six legged insects, also called crane flies. And, confusingly, also called water spiders though they are not spiders and the adults do not live in water. A few larval forms do live in water.
In the USA, daddy-long-legs refers to a harvestman, an 8 legged arachnid as has been said. End of lecture
I studied zoology light years ago!
