Welcome to CLUE CHAIN

The idea is to start with a cryptic clue - set by me this week.

The first correct solver (judged by the setter) then has to offer their clue and so on. It would be nice if explanations are given and setter will confirm or explain.

The person who solves the 1st clue is asked to kick off the next weeks CLUE CHAIN.(Thursday 24th around noon)

Once you have solved, and then set a clue you cannot enter again, although you can still comment.

30 min time limit per clue and if not solved the setter must declare the clue 'open' At this time the slate is wiped clean and everybody can start again. The setter will then choose the first correct answer posted, explain the unsolved clue and invite a new clue. If no correct answer is offered the next 'near miss' may be chosen.

Game ends at 18.00

Mine is six feet long. My brother-in-law saw a fisher cat on his farm and he said it was as ugly as sin. I said, "Uglier than a turkey vulture?", and HE said, "No contest." Those, by the way, do have a six-foot wingspread, and they're everywhere now. Probably waiting around for baby poodles that dared to laugh.

fishercats might be chomping their way through american moggies and doggies, but I'll bet that some of the cats round here, particularly the ones that glow in the dark, would make them think twice. why don't you and your neighbours all chip in and pay for a "drone" to do a fly by mission. or doesn't your neighbourhood watch run to that sort of thing.

I would be grateful if Dja would confirm that he has seen the revised intro. Just change the date and add your clue at the bottom.
