Hmmm, can't see anything in a list of English cities that might fit - except Derby (at a stretch). I'll have another look at the others but not too hopeful. Enjoy your Sunday Times crossword, best thing to do on a wet day like this (at least it is here).

Hi Pastille,
It is still about sorts and games, but clue no. 1 was: English city. Sorry if I confused you. Mrs T

No problems Mrs T, I am easily confused, at the best of times.

Just seen pastille's croquet. Very clever as are all the other answers.. I couldn't see any of them.
ecru is a type of cream (colour) and cru type of wine, Not sure where the O comes in, but Que? (question) ad T for musical note.
Probably completely wrong , but pastille will let us know when she reappears :)

Pastille & Jazzgirl
Just back in... Wow !
I'd NEVER have got that - well done Pastille.
I could see the cru for the wine, the note and the question - sort of...but the "kind of cream" never - even though I have ecru sheets! Brilliant... wait till I see the setter at the next flower show ... she deserves a swipe with the rhubarb
Cheers
Julie
